Dr. R. Chidambaram, Principal Scientific Advisor to Government of India has chaired the round table meet on Game Theoretic Approaches to Cyber Security (GTACS) hosted at SETS on 8th Feb 2018. Considering Game theory’s potential to offer cybersecurity solutions, PSA has emphasized the necessity to explore more into this elegant field in the cybersecurity context. He has also emphasised that “Growing cyber threats demand new and alternative approaches to complement or supplement existing approaches for dealing with them”.
Prof. Y. Narahari currently working in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and specialized in Game Theory and Mechanism Design has delivered a keynote talk at the event and explained relevant game theoretic concepts in the cyber security design. Dr. Sarat Chandra Babu, Executive Director, SETS noted that the objective of the event is to synergize the efforts of experts working in game theory and cyber security to explore the possible Game theoretic applications to cyber security scenarios.
Discussions took place on the main applications of game theory, namely securing cyber physical systems, denial-of-service protection and hardware security using game theory. The effective use of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Block Chain, Moving Target Defence etc. were also discussed along with Game Theoretic Approaches to Cyber Security.
